Damian Anthony Covarrubia, age 45, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loved ones, on January 4, 2022, due to liver failure.
He was born August 3, 1976, in San Antonio, Texas, to Fernando Covarrubia and Patricia Ann Ramirez. He married his longtime best friend and love, Reagan O'Neill Clark, in October of 2015.
Damian loved sports, even at an early age, and was often coached by his dad, which he loved and reminisced about often. In 1994 he graduated from Clark High School, where he continued to be active in both football and baseball. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and San Antonio College, focusing his studies on Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement. His love of the hospitality industry changed his path and, while working at Mark's on the Riverwalk in 2002, he met the love of his life, Reagan. They were instant soulmates, sharing the same family values, love of their pets, and a multitude of interests including the Dallas Cowboys. He loved all football, the San Antonio Spurs, all things Wrestling, and trips with friends to Port Aransas and New Orleans. Damian also enjoyed playing video games and anything related to Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Marvel, and DC. He was a loyal friend and considered his friends as extended family. He will be missed dearly.
Damian was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher M. Covarrubia; maternal grandfather, Eloy A. Ramirez; and paternal grandparents Juan M. and Ambrosia Covarrubia.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Reagan; maternal grandmother Rachel T. Ramirez; parents Fernando and Patricia; sisters Kimberly M. Touchstone (Eric) and Rachel E. Covarrubia; sister-in-law Alice Robin Avila (Zachary); nephews Arby B. Touchstone, Jasper H. Avila, and Alton J. Touchstone; niece Sophia S. Avila; and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom he loved deeply.
