Damien Azul Gonzalez

Damien Gonzalez AKA (Chelo), age 18, transitioned on Friday, August 18th, 2023 in San Francisco. He was born on January 18, 2005, in Burlingame California to Ariana Sanchez and Rigo Gonzalez. More than just a son, Damien was a beloved brother, friend, partner, community member, and an expecting father to incoming baby Damien.
Earlier this year he graduated from John O'Connell High School and he was interested in pursuing a career in Border Patrol. He was the proud CEO of his brand: Born Broke Die Rich.
He was a proud young community leader within Roadmap To Peace and the SF Latino Task Force. Damien enjoyed playing basketball, shopping, video games, receiving packages from Amazon, bonding with mom, listening to his favorite artists, eating orange chicken from Panda Express and learning to tattoo. He will be remembered for his charisma, service to his community, his warm hugs, caring soul, and contagious smile
He is survived by his parents Arianna Sanchez and Rigo Gonzalez. His siblings Marc Anthony Rivera, Jared Gonzalez, Delilah Garcia, and Aksel Garcia. Maternal Grandparents- Teresa Santos and Felipe Sanchez. Paternal grandparents- Celia Pineda and Raul Pineda. Aunts Lupita Orozco and Daisy Sanchez, Hugo Gonzalez, Raul Gonzalez, and Yolanda Gris Gonzalez. Partner- Shale Barrios and Son- Damien Isreal González. Along with a host of friends and family.
