Dan Bennett
Madison, Alabama – Dan Bennett, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Madison Hospital in Madison, Alabama. Born on June 28, 1949, to Clyde and Mildred Bennett, Dan lived a vibrant and adventurous life filled with creativity, curiosity, and a deep love for the open road.
He was a proud graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1971. Dan went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama. His professional journey was as dynamic as his personality—he worked as a private pilot and technical writer for Brown Engineering and SCI, blending precision with passion.
In 1975, Dan launched Dusty Dan’s in Scottsboro, Alabama, a venture that showcased his entrepreneurial spirit. He later co-owned Bennett & Bennett Commercial and Residential Painting, leaving his mark on homes and businesses across the region.
Dan’s zest for life was most evident in his hobbies. He had a lifelong love affair with Corvettes, owning several over the years and proudly participating in various Corvette clubs. Whether cruising in one of his prized cars or hitting the highway on his motorcycle, Dan found joy in the journey. His travels took him across the country, but his heart was especially drawn to the rugged beauty of Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Dan will be remembered for his adventurous soul, his craftsmanship, and the way he embraced life with boldness and humor. His legacy lives on in the stories he told, the roads he traveled, and the lives he touched.
He is survived by a host of loving family and close friends in Madison who welcomed him as one of their own. Their friendship, care, and steadfast presence brought comfort and joy to his life, and they will always hold a special place in his story.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
