Harold Wilson Obituary

Harold Kenneth Wilson of Tupelo, Mississippi, devoted husband, father, grandfather, mentor, world class businessman, and encourager, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on February 16, 2026, at the age of 85. Born in Steele, Missouri, to Ray and Audrey Wilson, Harold grew up with strong values and a deep devotion to family; family meant the world to Harold and he gave unselfishly of his love and support to each and every member. He's survived by Cathryn Barnes Wilson, the love of his life for over sixty two years whom he met while in high school in Steele, Missouri. He was the father of a son, Ken Wilson and a daughter, the late Krissa Williams. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren; he cherished being with them whenever possible, rarely missing their ballgames or being there for them at all important activities or milestones in their lives.

A man of high integrity, deep discipline and commitment, after college, Harold built a long and successful career with Sears, Roebuck & Company in Chicago before moving his family south to purchase Wheel Estate Mobile Homes in Tupelo. There his successful career continued as he led the family business from 1975 to 2017; growing his business from one to fourteen locations in Mississippi and Alabama. The name Harold Wilson and Wheel Estate became synonymous with integrity, high standards, and devotion to good and fair dealings and customers and manufacturers. Harold Wilson's word was his bond and he passed that on to all his employees. He became a highly respected leader in the manufactured housing industry, a member of the Mississippi Manufactured Association for over 50 years and was duly inducted in the Mississippi Manufactured Hall of Fame.

Harold loved all sports; played high school sports and played baseball at Arkansas State University. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed all the times with his "golfing crew". A passionate fan of Mississippi State Football, he cheered his Bulldogs on with unwavering enthusiasm. He loved his travels with family and trips with many mobile home dealers and manufacturers.

Harold was a devoted member of Harrisburg Baptist Church for over 50 years. He loved the Lord and his humility, generosity, loving attitude, and loyalty reflected that love. He quietly helped countless people, seeking nothing in return, and was a trusted friend to many. Harold valued "God, family, and mobile homes" in that order. He has a special friend, Maurice Roy, who worked closely with him at Sears and Wheel Estate for over 50 years and who was at his side until the end. Harold's loving legacy will long be remembered by all those whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his wife, Cathryn; son, Ken and his fiancé, Kerrie; six grandchildren, Jaida Bates and her husband, Jackson, Trip, Mia, Kaleb, Summer, and Brody; two sisters, Alice Faye and Carolyn; and brother, Dennis.

Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Pegues, Tupelo.

Cathryn and their family wish to express their gratitude to the staff at Sanctuary Hospice House and the Meadows for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Sanctuary Hospice House, PO Box 2177, Tupelo, MS 38803.
