August 18, 1947 - February 23, 2026

Leonard Earl Moore, 78, of Collinsville, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, February 23, 2026.
Leonard was born on August 18, 1947, in Luxora, Arkansas, to Lester Earl and Mary (Martin) Moore. He graduated from Luxora High School and attended Arkansas State University. Leonard proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969.
Leonard dedicated 22 years of his life as a police officer, faithfully serving and protecting his community. In addition to his law enforcement career, he was a full-time cattle rancher, a role he truly loved. He found great joy in the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also enjoyed gardening and working his land. Above all, Leonard cherished his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Moore of Collinsville; son, Reggie Moore and wife, Tina, of Sadler; brother, Bill Moore of Covington, Tennessee; sister, Geraldine Vernon of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; sister, Janie Middleton of Covington, Tennessee; brother, Don Moore of Benton, Arkansas; granddaughter, Malorie Henry and husband, Cole, of Whitesboro; grandson, Landon Moore of Sadler; and great-grandchildren, Ruby Henry and Rose Henry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Mary Moore; brother, Elwood Moore; and sister, Dorothy Rainey.
Pallbearers will be Landon Moore, Luke McAden, James Powell, David Cole Henry, Timothy Scheidler, and Reggie Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Rocky Testerman, Shawn Boehme, and Mark Duncan.
Funeral services honoring Leonard will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Sandy Springs Cumberland Church in Sandusky, officiated by Rev. Rick Carney. Interment will follow at Basin Springs Cemetery in Sadler. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Leonard will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and deep love for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
