Tom McClure Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Meador Funeral Home - Whitesboro on Feb. 26, 2026.
Tom McClure

June 1, 1941 - February 24, 2026

Tom McClure, 84, of Collinsville, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

He was born on June 1, 1941, in Amarillo, Texas to John William and Clara Bell (Bagwell) McClure. Tom graduated from Canyon High School in 1959 and continued his education at Wayland Baptist University and Amarillo College. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville.

For more than 40 years, Tom was a general contractor in the metal building industry. He was also employed at the Rocky Flats Nuclear Plant near Denver, Colorado. Known for his strong work ethic and craftsmanship, Tom took great pride in his profession.

Outside of work, Tom found joy in nature. He loved hiking and camping, spending time outdoors, and listening to music. Above all else, he was deeply devoted to his wife, Beverly, and was known to be absolutely crazy about her. He devoted many hours to his men's Bible study group in Amarillo.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly McClure of Collinsville; his children, John David McClure and wife Kathleen Bickings of Philadelphia, PA, Donna McClure Klein of Austin, Leigh Ann Hill and husband Curtis of Collinsville, Alan Lewis and wife Barbara of Krugerville, Sarah Ritchey and husband Steve of Collinsville, and Joel Lewis and wife Christy of Lindsey; his grandchildren, Emmanuel Ananda, Tyler McClure, Travis McClure, and Conne\or McClure Klein; eleven additional grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren from Beverly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Clara McClure, and his brothers, Howard McClure and Weldon McClure.

A memorial service honoring Tom's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Collinsville, officiated by Tar Henderson. Visitation to follow after the service.
