Mr. Daniel "Dan" Smith Bond, age 96, of Concord, passed away September 29, 2025.

Dan grew up in Dewey Rose, Georgia, son of the late William Haskin Bond and the late Zora Mae Mann Bond. A proud combat veteran, he served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his service, he worked with Borden's Dairy for 10 years, was Plant Manager for Styro-fabricators, before continuing his career as a Mechanical Engineer at Weyerhaeuser in Lithonia for 13 years.

Dan was known for his resourcefulness, he could fix almost anything with a bale of twine, duct tape, and the help of his faithful sidekick, Alicia. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and attending bluegrass festivals. A natural jokester, he loved telling tall tales and building things.

He was a member of American Legion Post #197 in Zebulon, a Master Mason and member of both Montgomery Lodge #31 in Zebulon and Morning Star Lodge #27 in Thomaston. Dan was a faithful member of Concord Methodist Church.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Margaret Williams Bond, and his daughter Sandra Germain.

He is survived by his daughter: Alicia Pastiran (George); grandchildren: Sheena Alyse McNeely (David), Seth Germain and Daniel Haskin "Hack" Lehman (Charisse); great-grandchildren: John Daniel, Keagan, Kyla, Kenley, Lily Jo, Kai, and Kenna; sister: Jennie Lee Jordan; son-in-law: Matt Germain; several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Dan's life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Griffin officiating.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
