Omaha, NE – Daniel "Dan" Braithwaite age 54 of Omaha, NE, passed away May 6, 2025, at the CHI Midlands Hospital in Papillion, NE.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow, NE. The funeral will be livestreamed at www.govierbrothers.com. Burial will follow in the Janesville Cemetery near Berwyn, NE. Memorials are suggested to the Family. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 16th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Govier Brothers Mortuary. Dan was born in David City on April 23, 1971, to Delmer and Connie (Caulkins) Braithwaite and was baptized on July 22, 1984, in Ansley, NE where he grew up and graduated from Ansley High School in 1989.
Dan was united in marriage to Linda (Stark) Roy on June 5, 1999, in McCook, NE they then moved to Broken Bow where they raised their two daughters and went on many adventures together.
Dan acquired his love for archery through his dad, attending many archery shoots together throughout the state of Nebraska and he was a member of the Nebraska Bowhunter Association and the Litchfield Archery club for many years. Dan found joy in camping, hunting, and working on cars; and he cherished every moment spent with his granddaughters. Date nights and road trips with his wife were a highlight of his life, reflecting the strong bond they shared together. His laughter, kindness, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dan was preceded in death by his father Delmer, brother Dale, grandparents Robert & Verleen Caulkins and Harold & Lucille Braithwaite, Aunt Norman and Uncle Sterling Caulkins, Uncle Ron Young, and Aunt Burneate Henderson.
Dan is survived by his wife Linda of almost 26 years, daughters Jordan (Mike) Haack of Omaha, NE, Crystal Roy-Braithwaite of Bellevue, NE, granddaughters Willow and Madeline Haack, his mother Connie Braithwaite of Berwyn, brother Seth (Becky) Braithwaite of Arcadia and nieces Lea, Celina, Emeline, and Selah Braithwaite; aunts, nieces, and cousins.
