Dan Hendren Obituary
Dan was the devoted husband of 61 years to his beloved wife, Phyllis (Komosa) Hendren. He was a proud and loving father to Mark (Lisa) Hendren and Matthew (Sarah) Hendren, and a cherished brother to Linda (Tom) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his dear sisters Kay Wolcott and Joan (Chuck) Burger.
He was a deeply adored grandfather to Brandon (Megan), Olivia (Adam), Lucas (Irisa), Chloe (Owen), Logan, Noah, Max, and Cora, and a joyful great-grandfather to Beckham. Dan's life was also blessed with many other relatives and dear friends who will miss him greatly.
His dedication to serving his country, his passion for running, and his commitment to his faith were just a few of the many ways he inspired those around him. A man of faith, family, and quiet strength, Dan leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and perseverance that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Services In state Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with a 12:00 noon Mass of the Resurrection to follow at St. Alfred Catholic Church, 9350 S. Telegraph Road, Taylor. Please note, all services will take place at the church; there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Taylor Chapel of Voran Funeral Home, 23750 Goddard Road. (313) 291-1800.
Interment with Veteran Honors will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
Memorial donations in Dan's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
