OAK GROVE, LA - Funeral services for Dan Wallace Minton, age 86 of Oak Grove, Louisiana will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Grove, Louisiana.
Reverends Dr. Clyde Sanchez and Shawn Corley will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery near Oak Grove, Louisiana.
Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove.
Visitation will be held from noon until time of service at Cox Funeral Home, 200 East Noble Street in Oak Grove, Louisiana.
Mr. Minton passed into eternal life on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at West Carroll Care Center in Oak Grove, Louisiana.
He loved anything outdoors and took every opportunity he could to do something productive. Dan loved the Lord, loved his family and church family. Later in his life his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Dan is survived by his wife, Jean (Allen) Minton of Oak Grove, Louisiana; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sherry Minton of West Monroe, Louisiana; son, Scott Beeson of Oak Grove; 6 grandchildren: Betty & Chris Cherry of West Monroe, Louisiana; Melissa Minton of Norfolk, Nebraska; Megan & Ricky Peterson of Oak Grove; Kylie Beeson & Chase Anderson of Oak Grove; and Bradley Beeson of Oak Grove; great grandchild, Gentri Vada and 3 great great grandchildren of Oak Grove; father-in-law, Aubrey Allen of Oak Grove; sister, Mary Minchew (Talmadge) of Start, Louisiana; sister, Gertie Burns of Walker, Louisiana; sister, Yvonne Brown (Richard) of Denham Springs, Louisiana; brother, Jessie Minton (Shirley) of Oak Grove; brother, Eddie Minton (Evelyn) of Denham Springs, Louisiana; special aunt, Pokey Sanchez of Oak Grove; sister-in-law, Lisa Allen of Oak Grove; sister-in-law, Gayle Creech (Danny) of Oak Grove; sister-in-law, Kathy Crowell (Ray) of West Monroe, Louisiana; brother-in-law, Bryant Burr of Oak Grove; and numerous nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jessie Newton Minton; mother, Robbie Nell (LaCaze) Minton; son, Keven Minton; daughter, Amy Greer; sister, Clarice Dukes; sister, Nancy Bourg; mother-in-law, Shirley Allen; sister-in-law, Teresa Allen; brother-in-law, Elton Burns; and nephew, Daniel Burr.
