Tupelo--Dan Robert Scott, age 64, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024 at his daughter’s home in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born July 14, 1960 in Memphis, the son of James and Margaret Scott. Dan worked as a master mechanic rebuilding engines. He found great joy and comfort in horseback riding. Dan enjoyed the simple pleasures of visiting with friends and family.
He leaves behind two children, Dana Blalock and her husband, Michael, of Memphis and Rocky Scott of Mooreville; his granddaughter, Kailee Blalock; and a sister, Pat Wright of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Scott and a sister, Janet Scott.
Visitation will be 12 until 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Pegues in Tupelo.
Services honoring Dan’s memory will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Pastor Lee Sparks officiating. Amy Kingsley will deliver a eulogy and Shun White will provide special music. Graveside services will follow at Andrews Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rocky Scott, Cody Long, Michael Blalock, Bob Johnson, and Shun White.
