Dan VanSchoyck Obituary Dan VanSchoyck 73 of Union Mills, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 in LaPorte. He was born August 14, 1949 in LaPorte to Richard D. and Charlotte (Schultz) VanSchoyck. On June 29, 2002 he married Annette Ohman who survives. Also surviving him are his brothers Roger (Mary) VanSchoyck, Richard VanSchoyck, and Mark VanSchoyck, all of LaPorte; his sisters Charlene (Jay) Gilpin of New Carlisle and Cheryl VanSchoyck of LaPorte and his close cousins Diana (Wayne) Mebust of Union Mills and Frank (Mary) VanSchoyck of Rolling Prairie. Several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog "Tank" also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John. Dan was a 1968 Rolling Prairie High School graduate and a member of the Union Mills Lions Club. He loved to golf and was an avid New York Yankees fan. A celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Dan can be made to the family to be used for a charitable cause to be determined at a later date. Newhard Funeral Home in Westville is in charge of arrangements.
