Dana June Gunning, age 52, of Morongo Valley, California, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025. Born on March 26, 1973, in Fosston, Minnesota, Dana was raised on the family farm where her father had grown up.
Dana was preceded in death by her parents, Mark Andy Gunning and Sylvia June (Ysen) Miller and stepfather, Virgil Miller. She leaves behind a legacy through her children, Matthew Hampson (11) and Annabella Hampson (10), who were the light of her life. She often spoke of her children as her greatest accomplishments and was so thankful she was able to become a mother.
She is also survived by her significant other, Allan Hampson; her sister, Lynette (Gunning) How; her brother, Mark G. Gunning; her sister, Jennifer (Gunning) Schultz;her stepmother Sarah Gunning, stepsisters Lauri and JoLayne Miller, and many nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward with caring and affection.
Dana's life will be honored with services in Palm Springs, California, with a celebration of life to follow at a later date in Bagley, Minnesota.
Rest in peace, Dana. You were deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
