Dana Denise Strader took her last earthly breath on Monday October 23,2023. She was 53, just a few weeks away form her 54th birthday. Dana was born in Little Rock Arkansas on November 4, 1969 to Alvin Lee and Wilma Aline Hiner. She quickly became known as the "Cherrio Kid" since that was the only thing she would eat. Her strong willed personality showed up at birth and continued right to the end. Dana graduated from Cyril High School, Cyril Oklahoma in 1988. Cyril is where she met her first husband and had her 2 amazing sons. Ridge and Hayden they were the apple of her eye and she was so proud of all of their awesome accomplishments. They talked and texted 100's of times a day, they are definitely "mommas boys" Dana lived with her family in Boise City, Oklahoma from 1979-1987. Dana excelled at anything she put her mind too. She received her degree for Administrative Assistant from Caddo-Kiowa Vo Tech in 1992. She took that degree and hired on in the Education Department of Whackenhut Correctional Facility in Lawton, Oklahoma. She then moved to Elkhart, Kansas and became a caregiver to our oldest brothers son Geoffrey Lynn Hiner. In 2009 she moved to Amarillo Texas and continued her wonderful gift of taking care of others at the Texas Panhandle State Center. During that time she also worked part-time for her sister Charla Jenkins at her grooming salon, which eventually turned into a full time job where she kept us all in check. She was always our Quality Control. Even though she didn't like to cry in front of people she hugged and cried with many of our clients throughout the years when their babies passed. She always wanted people to think she was tough and mean but she was truly a Big Ole Teddy Bear. I shed many tears when she decided to take a job closer to home and Cuddley Cuts was never the same after she left. Dana met Keith Strader June 13, 2015 and they married in my backyard on August 22, 2015. They made their home in Muleshoe Texas, and with this marriage she received 3 bonus children Joseph, Brittany and Royce Strader. Dana has always had such a huge heart and the most ornery smile ever, you never quite knew what was going through her mind, but guaranteed she was gonna make you laugh and smile. She enjoyed so many things but her 18 grandchildren topped the list Grandma Dana's house was the place to be, especially with her salt water pool. Getting to be at home her last few days surrounded by most of those grand babies gave her so much peace and so much love. Dana has always been a dog lover and her 4 legged babies gave her so much comfort always but definitely at the end. She asked for her baby Tucker while in the hospital and he was allowed an overnight visit. Sweet Ms. Chloe curled right up next to Dana and stayed there till the end not leaving Dana's side. If you truly knew Dana then you know how much she loved her boys, grand babies and family, the color green, her collection of frogs, her cokes because "water was of the devil" crocheting, Casinos and Bingo. She was the luckiest person ever and was always winning. Dana was the best sister ever and her family meant everything to her. Ours has now changed forever, definitely filled with loads of funny Dana stories and memories but we will never be the same. Our amazing brother Phil has been Dana's daily caregiver throughout her cancer journey and Kayla has been there day and night taking shifts to be by her side. Dana's fight with cancer began in 2018 and we had 4 1/2 years of remission, but it came back with vengeance. This summer with her was a gift from God as she felt pretty good. She spent a lot of time with her grand babies, played a lot of Bingo and was able to take a vacation with Keith. August came and everything drastically changed and her little body just could not fight it off anymore. We are all mourning her passing but rejoicing that she is no longer in pain. Dana was proceeded in death by her dad and mom Alvin Lee and Wilma Aline Hiner, oldest brother Kimball Lynn Hiner and one grandchild. She is survived by her oldest son and wife Ridge and Viridiana McClure, their children Aurora, Samson, Xander, Eddie and Gracie all of Amarillo, Texas. Her youngest son Hayden McClure of Amarillo, Texas. Her oldest brothers children Philip Brantley of Mountain Home Arkansas and Devin Hiner of Big Springs KS, his granddaughter McKayla Robertson of Elkhart KS. Her brother Phil Hiner of Muleshoe Texas,. Her sister Charla Jenkins of Amarillo Tx. Her sister Kayla Toponce and her partner, Michael Larned and her sons Ashton Toponce, Matthew Toponce and his partner Clayton Johnson of Amarillo, Texas. Her bonus children, Son Joseph Strader and his children Julias, Matthew, Jesse, Penelope and Olivia of Pascagoula, MS and Muleshoe Texas, Daughter Brittany Cooke and her children Reese, Liam and Harlee of Moss Point MS. Son and wife Royce and Sandy Strader their children Mayra, Logan, Aiden, Spencer and Daisy of Muleshoe Tx. Her mother-in-law and 2 sister-in-laws, Martha, Murray, Lanette Frankson and Katreena Delp all of Spencer IN. Her husband Keith Strader of Muleshoe Tx. Her sweet fur babies Tucker, Chloe, Diesel, Zeva, Kita Jo, Tina and Raven. Memorial Services will be held Saturday October 28,2023 at 2:00 P.M at Trinity Church in Muleshoe Texas.
