Today we gather to celebrate the life of our beloved sister, mother, daughter, and friend, Danent White. Born on March 13, 1966, in Manchester, Jamaica, W.I. Danent was the cherished daughter of Milda and the late Pasce Robertson. She grew up surrounded by love alongside her four siblings - Desmon Chambers, Naomi Tucker, Trace Tucker, and Andrew Tucker.
From her childhood days at Waterloo Primary School, Danent carried a quiet determination and a tender spirit that would guide her through life. In August of 1993, she journeyed to the United States of America to begin a new chapter - one filled with faith, hard work, and love. Not long after, her greatest joy arrived: her son, Levon King, born on December 1, 1995. Levon was her heart, and their bond was deep and unbreakable.
Danent lived a simple yet joyful life, grounded in her faith and filled with compassion for others. She was a devoted member of Horac Ministries, where her presence shone brightly. Her love for God and her community was unwavering, and she poured that same love into her work at Hope Christian Services, where she was deeply loved by her coworkers and clients alike.
To know Danent was to know kindness. She had a warm smile, a gentle voice, and a spirit that welcomed everyone. Yet behind that softness was strength - she would embrace you with love however she would also tell you the truth when you needed it most. To be her friend was truly to become part of her family.
Even through life's most difficult storms, Danent's faith never faltered. When she fell ill with cancer after the heartbreaking loss of her son, she faced it with grace, courage, and prayer. Her determination carried her through, and though she triumphed over the illness, the toll of treatment weighed heavily. When her journey on this earth came to an end, we believe the Lord saw her weary but faithful heart and called her home.
Danent's life reminds us what it means to love deeply, to serve faithfully, and to live with quiet strength. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit, her laughter, and her love live on in everyone she touched.
May her soul rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord.
