David Michael White, age 76, of Morganton, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. He was born October 28, 1949 to David and Pat White in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
David never met a stranger. He had a natural gift for making everyone feel welcome, and he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Known for his quick wit and his own unique sense of humor, he always seemed to have a quote ready for any situation-often saying with a grin, "Make them put back s... they never stole."
He loved the outdoors and found his greatest peace in hunting, fishing, and simply being surrounded by nature. Fiercely loyal and protective, David was a true defender of his family-especially his girls. You didn't mess with them unless you wanted to answer to him.
A wise man with wise advice, David shared his knowledge freely and lived his life with a quiet strength. He was a hardworking man who held many different jobs over the years, tackling each one with dedication and pride.
David is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jo Weber White of Morganton; daughter, Jeanne Marie Strong of Pennsylvania; son and daughter-in-law, David Michael White, Jr. and Karen White of Virginia; daughter and son-in-law, Falyn and Jeremy Mitchell of Jasper; grandchildren, Evelyn Mitchell, Nicholas White, Nathan White, A.J. Conway; sister, Chris MacArthur of Jasper; sister-in-law, Nancy White of Pennsylvania; nephew, Spencer White (Karlie) of Pennsylvania; great-niece, Sydney White; niece and Godchild Amber Buric (Michael) of West Virginia; nephew and Godchild, Lance Esper of Pennsylvania. Many friends and loved ones in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and New York also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Pat White; and brother, Jami White.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring to honor David.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
