Ann Brinson Doty, 94, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away on November 9, 2025. Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband Jack Doty; her parents Virgil and Mill Brinson; her mother Ethleen Blakeney; her brothers Ben and Jim Brinson; and her sister Linda Blakeney. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Vess (Joseph), and her son, Mark Doty (Lavonne). She was a beloved grandmother to her granddaughters, Keri James (Matt) and Allison Saggus (Clint), and treasured her role as great-grandmother to Grace and Georgia Saggus.
Ann loved her family deeply and was endlessly proud of them. She had a special place in her heart for animals and lovingly claimed every family "granddog" as her own. She also had a bright creative spirit and enjoyed painting earlier in her life. Ann was known for her sharp mind and keen sense of responsibility, and she liked to keep a close watch on things, especially when it came to money. Her careful eye for details and her firm commitment to not wasting a dime were well known in the family.
In her later years Ann found comfort, companionship, and joy at Rock Creek Manor (Songbird), where the neighbors and staff became like a second family. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Roper Funeral Home in Jasper, Georgia, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A service will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Pastor Preston Jones officiating. A private interment will take place afterward.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a donation to a charity of your choice in Ann's memory, or simply honor her by extending a thoughtful act of kindness to someone in need.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
