Daniel Abee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Feb. 9, 2026.
Daniel Keith Abee Jr. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 7, 2026. He was 68 years old.

Known to his family and friends as Danny, he was born in Portsmouth Virginia and had been living at Harmony at Oakbrook in Chesapeake, VA for the past 4 years. Danny couldn't have been happier at Harmony where he became friends with the amazing kitchen staff, the caring medical team and the residents that he shared his meals with each day.

Danny graduated from Deep Creek High School in 1976 and was a Hornets fan through and through.

In addition to enjoying football, Danny loved to read. Danny had the entire Bible memorized, and as soon as a praise song would appear on the screen at church, he would know exactly where it was in his Bible. Also, Danny never missed reading the newspaper. He made sure he was downstairs at the entrance of Harmony each morning to get his hands on the Virginian Pilot.

Danny was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend. Danny leaves behind his loving and devoted mother, Peggy M Abee. In addition, Danny leaves behind his two sisters Cookie and husband, Dennis Jones of Cornelius, NC, and Taffy and husband, Robbie Bain of Moyock, NC.

In addition, brother-in-law, Tony Adams, two nephews, Don Hartung, his daughters, Angela Morales, Maddy and son, Tommy, and nephew Nathan Adams, his wife Melissa, their children Brantley, Preston, Averly and Elliot. Danny also leaves behind his niece, Leah and husband Josh Kennedy, and their children Charlie and Lydia.

Danny was proceeded by his father, Daniel Keith Abee Sr, grandparents, Frank and Lillian Mooney and his sister, Donna A. Adams.

Danny's family and friends will greatly miss his kind demeanor and his notable smile and laugh.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Graham Funeral Home and Crematory, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, from 1:30- 2 p.m. with a service to celebrate Danny's life starting at 2 p.m. Danny's brother-in-law and friend, Dennis Jones will be officiating his service.
