Paul Creeley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Feb. 9, 2026.
Paul L. Creeley, 80, passed away January 27th 2026, in his home surrounded by family in Chesapeake, Va. Born in North Hornell, New York on May 25th 1945. He was the son of Harold J. Creeley and Gertrude E. Creeley. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of more than 50 years Shirley D. Creeley, parents and brothers Ed Creeley and Duane Creeley. A loving child at heart, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather will absolutely be missed and is survived by sister Carol Creeley, brothers Larry Creeley, Harold Creeley Jr., and Ron Creeley. His two wonderful sons Roy Creeley and Paul Creeley. His grandchildren Shelby Creeley, Kevin Creeley and Caley Creeley. His great grandson Jeremiah Creeley. A celebration of life will be held February 28th, 2026 from 2pm to 4pm at 564 River Gate Rd., Chesapeake, Va. 23322. Graham Funeral Home will be assisting the family.

Paul graduated from Jasper Central High School in 1964. He then joined the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1971. From there, he went on to become a firefighter at Norfolk Navel Base and retired the Deputy Fire Chief in 1997. Paul lived life to the fullest in retirement traveling, visiting family and friends and spending lots of time with his immediate family which he loved with all his heart. He also became a dog owner in retirement and he loved his little spunky miniature Schnauzer Jodi. Paul was a very honorable man and always seemed to make the right decisions in life. He would tell you the only thing he hated in his life was being diagnosed with celiac disease which caused him to consume a gluten free diet. The pain in his eyes to see others eating rolls, buns and biscuits for certain would make you feel guilty. The man loved his bread. Paul would tell you not to mourn his passing but to truly celebrate just knowing him for he lived a beautiful life. You will never be forgotten and for sure to bring warmth to all our hearts at every thoughtful memory. We all love you and want to thank you for sharing your life with us. Until we see again...all our love.
