Daniel Abercrombie Obituary

Visit the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care - Battle Creek website to view the full obituary.

Daniel 'Danny' Abercrombie, 49, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his home on March 13, 2026. Danny had been battling illness for a long time but continued to fight with strength and determination. He had recently been getting stronger and working hard toward walking again, motivated by one very special goal - to walk his daughter down the aisle at her upcoming wedding.

Danny was someone who seemed to know everyone. He was known for his friendly personality and willingness to help others. He loved spending his summers at the racetrack with his son Daniel, working on cars and sharing a passion that meant so much to both. When he wasn't at the track, Danny enjoyed fishing, hunting, cookouts and spending time with the people he loved the most. He was also a devoted fan of the Detroit Lions and rarely missed a game. Even during difficult times and hospital stays, he always made sure to watch and cheer on the team he loved. Danny also craved him some BBQ wings from Buffalo Wild Wings.

Danny leaves behind his loving wife Valerie Abercrombie; his children Tori Abercrombie with fiancé Jake and Daniel Abercrombie II with Angel; stepchildren Kristy Babcock and Les, Ben Coger and Michelle; Sister Cindy Moore and Gary; and brothers Eddie Abercrombie and Shannon and Fred Abercrombie. He was preceded in death by his parents Cindy and Grif Abercrombie and his stepson Jonathan Coger.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday March 19, 2026 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care. A graveside service will follow at Hicks Cemetery, at 3:00 p.m. Personal messages for the family may be placed here at www.farleyestesdowdle.com
