Daniel L. Alsup, 76, of Greenwood, passed away on May 15, 2025 at Community Hospital South. He was born in St. Charles, Virginia on August 9, 1948, to the late Charlie and Willa (Marlow) Alsup. Dan attended Mooresville schools and was drafted into the United States Army in 1968, serving his country until 1971. After his discharge, Dan earned his GED in 1972.
He started as a carpenter for IPL in the late 1980s and retired as a supervisor in 2021 after 33 years of dedication. During these years, Dan also worked part-time for his company, Dan's Home Improvement LLC, providing remodeling and inspections.
He was a member of the Greenwood American Legion Post 252. Dan's favorite form of relaxation was sitting by the water on a beach. He was an avid golfer and traveled to Florida in the winter months to golf year-round.
In addition to his parents, Dan is preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas, William, James, David, and Ralph Alsup; sisters, Janice Carol Organ and Sue Alsup; and two infant sisters, Linda Joyce and Shirley Ann Alsup.
Survivors include his sisters-in-law, Barbara and Carolyn Alsup, and several nieces and nephews.
In honoring Dan's wishes, his earthly remains will be cremated. Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville is handling his arrangements.
