My father, Daniel Steve Amicone, passed away peacefully at home with me by his side after a long and courageous battle with prostate cancer. My father was born on December 28, 1949 in Ogden, Utah to Steve and Helen Amicone. He grew up in Murray, UT and later moved to Salt Lake City where he attended Our Lady of Lourdes school and graduated from Judge Memorial in 1969. My father was the most amazing, wonderful, and caring person in the world. There is nothing he wouldn't do for any of us. He was a very hard worker and worked non stop, all the time. He spent 9 years out at Kennocott Copper mine when he was laid off. He then started his career at the Newspaper Agency (N.A.C). Which later became Media One and retired over 30 years later on December 31, 2015. One of his most favorite things to do was to spend time with family. It didn't matter what was going on as long as family was with him. In his free time when he wasn't out on the patio or sitting on the front porch smoking White Owl cigars, he was doing something for or with his church. One of the things he enjoyed most about church was helping serve mass alongside Fr. Norman and his fellow Knights. His dedication and love for his faith was unmatched. My father is survived by his son; Johnny Amicone, his grandson; Steven Amicone. 2 Chihuahuas; Blue and Virginia. And several cousins. 1 niece; Kera Amicone (Irvin) and 1 nephew; Timothy Amicone (Rhonda, Taylor, and Rainey). All of whom he loved more than anything. Preceded in death by his parents; Steve (Helen) Amicone, his brother; Paul Amicone. Dad, I love you more than anything. You have been my rock, my guidance, strength, and most importantly my best friend. I am who I am today because of you. Until I see you again. Please watch over me. I would like to give thanks to everyone that visited him at home and spent time with him and called him on the phone just to say "hi," those moments meant so much to him and you all will forever have a special place in my heart. Also, to the Intermountain Oncology team and his hospice care team that came to the house daily, you guys took such amazing care of him. And treated him so well. You are true Angels. Service will be, September 5th, 2025 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church located on 1375 East Spring Lane. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. with a rosary followed by mass at 11:00 am. After Mass, graveside services will be held at Mount Calvary cemetery located on 275 U St, Salt Lake City, UT 84103. From there we will proceed back to St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church on spring Lane for a bite and a few laughs.
