Daniel Angelelli Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, Inc. - Sterling Heights on Dec. 19, 2025.
Dan Angelelli, 55, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Ginder Angelelli; his cherished son, Cooper Angelelli; his mother, Patricia Angelelli; and his sister, Cheryl Angelelli-Kornoelje (Shawn). Danny was preceded in death by his father, Ray Angelelli, whom he deeply admired.

Danny was a graduate of St. Germaine Catholic School and Notre Dame High School, Class of 1988.

Danny's greatest joy in life was his family, including his loyal dog, Kylo. He was a loving husband, a proud and devoted father, and a caring son and brother. Danny was a loyal friend with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He was kind, giving, and thoughtful of others, often putting their needs before his own.

Growing up, Danny was a natural athlete-a competitive swimmer, baseball player, and hockey player. Hockey, however, was his first and greatest love. He played travel hockey throughout his youth, forming lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories. The highlight of his hockey career was playing for Lake Superior State University (LSSU), where he was a two-time NCCA National Champion (1992-1994). Danny's impact extended far beyond his playing days. He remained an active and generous alum, supporting the program and student athletes.

Danny's teammates described him as a leader in the locker room who would do anything for his teammates-loyal, hilarious, a motivator and the glue that held the team together. Danny considered his Laker teammates brothers and remained close with many of them throughout his life, always looking forward to their reunions.

It was also at Lake Superior State University where Danny met the love of his life, Jennifer. They were married for 24 years-ironically the same number as Danny's hockey jersey. Together, they shared countless memories side by side. Danny loved music and enjoyed going to live music venues. He liked to read and play golf.

Danny proudly passed his love of hockey on to his only son, Cooper. As a family, Danny, Jennifer, and Cooper were deeply involved in their hockey community, surrounded by a wide circle of friends. Danny enjoyed helping coach some of Cooper's teams and treasured the time they spent together.

Professionally, Danny worked alongside his father in the family business started by his dad and uncle. He was extremely close to his father and always considered him his hero.

The world is less bright without Danny in it. He will be deeply missed for his smile, his compassion, his humor, and the love he shared so freely.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in Danny's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org

Visitation will be January 24, 2026 from 3pm-9pm, with a Memorial Service at 7pm at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons funeral home in Sterling Heights.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
