Daniel Lee Austin

SMYRNA MILLS, MAINE - Daniel Austin, 55, passed away on 02/24/2026 with his family by his side. Dan was born July 21, 1970, in Houlton, Maine, the son of Deborah (Irish) and Steven Burtt and Russell Austin.

He graduated from Hodgdon High School in 1988 and worked in construction until he found his love for tattooing. He was a loving husband and father. His greatest joy and achievements were his daughter Zoe and son Rider.

He is survived by his wife Stacy (Tweedie) Austin and children Zoe Austin and Rider Austin of Smyrna Mills, Maine, his mother Deborah (Irish) Burtt, step-father Stephen Burtt, sister Michelle (Austin) Jones, brothers Christopher Austin and Stephen Burtt, nieces Heather Hall, Paige (Nason) Joy, and Madison Hartin-Burtt, nephews Jake Sylvia, Timothy Deline, Daniel Nason, Branden Nason, Milo Austin, and Cole Austin, mother-in-law and father-in-law Lynn and Jerry Tweedie, sister-in-law Kara Tweedie, brother-in-law Jeremy Tweedie, many aunts, uncles, uncle in-law, cousins, cousins in-law, great-nieces and great-nephews. He loved all his animals but will be especially missed by his cat Oscar.

He is predeceased by his sister Stephanie (Burtt) Nason, niece Nicole Hall, father Russell Austin, treasured grandparents Milo and Madeline Irish, and his best friend Leonard (Lenny) Shields.

A funeral is scheduled for Friday 03/06/2026 at 10:00 with Rev. Raymond Gough officiating. The family would like to thank all family, friends, and coworkers for their loving thoughts and support. The family would also like to thank Dr. Solomon Olabiyi for his compassion, kindness, and care of Daniel.
