Daniel T. Barrios Jr. of Hondo went to be with the Lord on Friday May 30, 2025, at the age of 77 years. Daniel was born on June 4, 1947, in Hondo, Texas, the son of Daniel and Aurelia Tapia Barrios.
He is preceded in death by his parents; late wife Maria Alica Barrios, daughters Veronica Barrios, Nichole Barrios, Valerie Barrios; sons Isabel (Peps) Barrios and Eddie Barrios; brother David Barrios; sisters Guadlupe Guerrero and Terry Solis.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Juliana Suarez; his son Daniel Barrios (Belinda) and Johnny Barrios (Paula); stepdaughters Stephanie Serrano, Geneve Suarez, Kimberly Suarez and Estella Suarez; daughter-in-law Lisa Barrios; brother Richard Barrios (Dee Dee); sister-in-law Cynthia Barrios.
Daniel was a proud grandfather to fifteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
Daniel will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, TDCJ family, his strong character, and the legacy he leaves behind through those who loved him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the Hondo Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. On Friday, June 6,2025, a Funeral Mass will be held at the St. John’s Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Services will conclude after Mass.
The pallbearers: David Barrios Jr., Danny Barrios, Edward Perez, Rick Barrios, Christian Barrios, and Mikael Serrano.
