He was born in Linden, New Jersey and moved to Florida to attend college at Jacksonville University after being honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps as a Corporal.
After graduating from Jacksonville University, Daniel started and finished his 30+ year career with State Farm Insurance Company, retiring as an insurance fraud investigator.
Daniel was of the Catholic faith and often volunteered his time during the holidays with the Salvation Army.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Bartus of Ft. Pierce, FL and Daniel Bartus, Jr of Jupiter, FL; one sister, Julianne Pandolfi of Brick, NJ; four grandchildren, Carter Bartus and Moraine Bartus of Jupiter, and Kaitlyn Bartus and Abigail Bartus of Ft. Pierce.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Julia Bartus of Linden, NJ; brother, Johnny Bartus of Linden, NJ; fraternal twin sister Diana Corish of Clinton, NJ; and his loving wife, Irene Bartus of West Orange, NJ.
A celebration of life with military honors will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in Daniel's honor to a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach.
