Daniel Grant Bookamyer

Mr. Daniel Grant Bookamyer, age 83, or York, SC passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Bratton Funeral Home located at 1455 Filbert Hwy York, SC 29745. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Charles Aurand officiating. At the end of the service military honors will be rendered by VFW Post 12136 Honor Guard.

Daniel was born on August 9, 1942, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was the son of the late Grant Daniel Bookamyer and Margaret Lang Bookamyer. Daniel proudly served two years in the United States Army, earning three medals and the Sharpshooter Rifle M14 Badge while serving during the Vietnam War.

On February 10, 1973, Daniel married the love of his life, Patricia Schleicher Bookamyer. In addition to his wife of 53 years, Daniel is survived by his son, Brian Daniel Bookamyer (Debbie); his daughter, Sharon Lynn Bookamyer; and his granddaughters, MacKenna, Amaya, and Caitlyn.

In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Bookamyer and William Bookamyer, and his sister, Patricia Custer.

In memory of Daniel Bookamyer, memorials may be made to Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, where he was a member for 17 years. The church address is 323 N. Congress St. York, SC 29745.
