Mr. Daniel Willis Braziel, 72 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at WellStar Kennestone Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this time of bereavement. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 11:00AM at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. The body will lie in state in the chapel from 10:00am until the hour of service. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton, Georgia 30114. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 6:00PM - 7:00PM at Mack Eppinger and Sons Funeral Home, 210 North Bartow Street, Cartersville, Georgia 30120. This service will be LIVE-STREAMED.
Mr. Daniel Willis Braziel passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.
Daniel Willis Braziel was born on Saturday, February 2, 1952 in Rockmart, Georgia to the late Charlie James (CJ) and Oris Dean Braziel. He was educated in the Polk County School System graduating with the Class of 1970. After graduation Daniel joined the United States Air Force where he served as an Aircraft Mechanic. He retired in August of 1992 after having completed 20 (twenty) years of service to his country.
He returned from the service and moved to Cartersville, Georgia where he began working as a Job Coach at WalMart helping disabled individuals learn their jobs. The Gordon County Committee on the Development of Persons with Disabilities presented him with the Pioneer Award in 2006.
Daniel spent the next chapter of his life loving his family, helping raise his grandchildren, and pouring wisdom and acts of kindness into anyone he crossed paths with. He loved spending time with his wife, children, siblings, grandchildren, and close friends. A family get together always left him with a smile on his face and an overflowing joy of bliss.
From being a loving husband; to a one of a kind father; to being the world's greatest papa; to his siblings he was DW; to simply being Uncle Daniel to everyone including his nieces and nephews; Daniel shared many acts of genuine love with all.
Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie James (CJ) Braziel and Oris Dean Braziel; son, Danny Willis Braziel; nephew, John (JJ) Simons,Jr.; and great-grandson, Anthony Barker.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, to his wife of 54 years Myrtice Braziel; daughter, Stephanie (Robert) Barker; siblings, Charlie (Butch) (Debbie) Braziel, Angela "Ann" (Sam) Mitchum, Susan Braziel "Lucky Sue/Sue", and Marilyn "Puddin" Pollard; grandchildren, Danielle "Dani" Braziel, Aaron Shaw, Robert "RJ" Barker, Jr., and Jaquita "Q" (Marcus) Long; great-grandchildren, Noah Shaw, Isabella Shaw, Angela Shaw, Tristan Hall, and Michael Barker; special nice Monica Goggins; special nephews, Jamal McClure, LeRon and Devan (DJ) Pollard; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, extended family and friends.
