Daniel Ray Brown, born March, 28th 1939 of Bessemer Pennsylvania, passed away on December 16th, 2025. He is the son of the late Helen Brown and Sylvester Clemens Brown. He is preceded in death by his two older brothers, Richard(Dick) and William(Bill) Brown. He lived a long, full, and beautifully simple life—one rooted in family, service, the great outdoors with a social life of many friends. A man who found joy in open land and fresh air, he spent much of his life on the acres he cherished in Lisbon, where hunting, camping, and a deep respect for nature were part of his everyday happiness. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving honorably from 1961 to 1965. His service was a point of quiet pride, reflecting his strong sense of duty, integrity, and love for his country. He was also a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 2216, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), organizations he valued for their sense of brotherhood, service, and community. Daniel was a machine assembler known to many shops in the surrounding areas and he retired from that career at Bliss in Salem. Above all else, he was immensely proud of his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Ruth A. Brown(Jenkins), a testament to enduring love and partnership. He also leaves behind his two sons, Kevin R. Brown (Virginia Brown) and Derek L. Brown (Kimberly Smith) of Lisbon. His title, “Grampa” was earned by his two grandchildren Ryan Adam Brown and Erin Elizabeth Brown, and he embraced that with his five great-grandchildren— Aidan Ruger, Kalan Mathew, Liam Case and Rylynn Aniston of Niles, and Eliana Teresa of Texas, each of whom was a source of deep pride and joy.An intelligent man with a true hunger for life, he approached each day with a smile and a light heart. He was known for always having a joke to tell or a funny gesture to share bringing laughter and warmth wherever he went. A clever man, Daniel knew when it was a good time to take risks and he is proud of the experiences those moments have gifted him. His presence made people feel at ease, and his humor left lasting memories for all who knew him.At his request, there will be no formal service. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to share stories, laughter, and memories in the spirit he lived by His legacy lives on through the land he loved, the family he built, and the countless smiles he brought to others. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.”
