Daniel Paul Chenette, 76 passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025 with his loving family by his side
Born on January 5, 1949 to Elizabeth A (Bleiler) and Robert L Chenette, Dan was one of ten children and lived his rambunctious young life in the Columbia point section of Boston before moving to Quincy as a child.
Family vacations spent in Rome, Maine led to his love of the outdoors. He, alongside his family, worked tirelessly to built a home that would lead to many cherished memories, spanning generations.
A graduate of Quincy Vocational Technical School, Dan went on to join the US Navy in 1967 and was assigned to serve on the USS Dyess, where he was a ship fitter. He was a proud veteran. Dan was a plumber, a builder, a fine finish carpenter and a talented kitchen designer and business owner in Quincy for many years.
Dan married the love of his life, Joan Day in 1977 and built their home in the Hough's Neck section of Quincy. He was the proud father of four children, Renee Chenette, Danny Chenette, Nicole Chenette and fiancé Evan Papson, and Brian Chenette, and was an even prouder papa to his five grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Aidan, Sam, Ronin and Maggie.
He is survived by his siblings David Chenette, Paul Chenette, Frank Chenette, Richard Chenette, Elizabeth Chenette Lee, and predeceased by siblings Robert Chenette, Carol Blowers, Jack Chenette, and Michael Chenette.
Dan made many lasting impressions and friendships throughout his life that he held dear. He had faced many health battles in the later part of his life and worked hard by walking many miles, and and staying fit at the Quincy YMCA. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Dan will be remembered for his hearty laugh and great sense of humor, his willingness to help family, friend or neighbor and his love for the ocean.
