Daniel Chiara Obituary
Daniel was born December 6, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y. to the late Michael and Salvatrice (Giannoni) Chiara. Daniel was U.S. Army veteran of World War II and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was Purple Heart and Bronze Star Recipient. He moved to Port Charlotte in 1985 from Brooklyn with his wife Dorothy who died in 1997. Daniel was a retired bank manager. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Charter member of the Elks Lodge #2763 of Deep Creek, the Moose Lodge and American Legion Post 110 of Port Charlotte.
Survived by his loving family; a son Michael P. (Elizabeth "BJ") Chiara of Port Charlotte, a daughter Linda Chiara (Chris) Hogan of Sarasota, Fla.
Military honors will be held at Noon, on September 17, 2021, at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel by American Legion Post #110.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow 1 p.m., on September 17, 2021, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte.
Entombment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.
Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to extend condolences to the family. Arrangements by Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel.

We miss you Dan. I think of you all the time since every time I walk out my front door I look over at your house. I know you're up there just dancing away and cracking jokes. Keep them all dancing and smiling.

Michael and family. Jack and I are so very sorry for the loss of your dad. It has been a pleasure having Dan as our very special neighbor and friend. Lots of laughs were had with Jack and Dan over being a Yankees fan and Jack being a Red Sox fan.. There are so many fond memmories including dancing with Dan at the Elks many times. He was a beautiful dancer..I'm sure he will be dancing in heaven with his wife right now..Dan you will be missed so very much. May he RIP..
