Dan was born in the Bronx, NY, to the late Daniel and Sylvia Contillo. He moved to Lodi, NJ, at the age of eight, and later settled in Rockaway, NJ, after marrying.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda of 50 years; his son, Daniel, and wife, Dawn Contillo; his daughter, Nicole, and husband, Eddie Febles; and his daughter, Lauren, and husband, Steven Maza. He is also survived by his sisters, Lucyann Contillo and Ancilla, and her husband, Michael Maessca. His cherished grandchildren include EJ Febles, Carlee and James Contillo; and Valentina, Vincent, and Vivian Maza. He will also be dearly missed by his faithful dog, Noodles.
He worked as a heavy equipment engineer with Local 825 for 55 years. Dan was a proud and dedicated member of the Masonic Lodge Acacia #20 and the Scottish Rite.
Daniel enjoyed classic cars, shooting pool with his grandson, going out for ice cream with his grandchildren, traveling to the Islands, taking trips to Atlantic City, and watching the Yankees-especially when they won.
He will be remembered for his deep love for his family, his generosity, and the many friendships he cherished.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 4:00PM -7:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph (www.tuttlefh.com). Memorial Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:00AM, at St. Cecilia R.C. Church, Rockaway.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the March of Dimes.
