Daniel William Crowley (Dan), a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 12, 2025, at the age of 57, due to complications related to Long COVID.
Born on September 6, 1967, in Phoenix, Arizona, Dan was the son of James Barry Crowley and Patricia Ploussard Crowley. He graduated from Arcadia High School and earned a degree in History from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. After returning to Phoenix, he joined his father at Crowley Construction, where they worked together for many years. His father was especially proud to have him by his side.
In 2000, Dan began a new chapter as a firefighter with the Phoenix Fire Department, a role that reflected his dedication to helping others. This was exemplified in August 2004 when Dan was awarded the Medal of Valor for unselfishly risking his own life to save that of a two and a half year old girl who was hiding under her bed during an apartment fire. He was promoted to Captain in 2015 and served with pride until his early retirement due to illness.
More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family. On March 26, 2005, Dan married Jennifer Anne Hancock in Maui, Hawaii. Together, they built a beautiful life with their three children. Dan cherished the moments spent with his loved ones and will be remembered for his big heart, good-natured disposition and ability to always put others before himself. His laugh was contagious. Dan was seldom seen without a smile on his face and brought joy to those he loved.
Dan is survived by his wife, Jennifer Crowley; children Kayla, Lexi, and Bradyn; mother Patricia Crowley; siblings Jim Crowley (Lana), Peggy Khan (Bob), Karen Tejada (Tim), and Donna Schmidt; aunt-in-law Joanne; cousins-in-law Casey and Courtney, sisters-in-law Erynn and Maria; 14 nieces and nephews; and a great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Barry Crowley, and his brother, Michael Kevin Crowley.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday May 23, 2025, at 10am at St. Agnes Church, 1954 N 24th Street, Phoenix, AZ. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Italian American Club at 7509 N. 12th Street, Phoenix, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, Dan would appreciate donations toward the Phoenix Fire Foundation, PO Box 32003, Phoenix, AZ 85064-2003
