Daniel Bruce Dafoe

Dan Dafoe, 60, passed away on November 22, 2020 at his home in Fort Collins, Colorado after a courageous battle with cancer. Dan was born on November 8, 1960 in Portland, Oregon to Dr. Ralph and Mrs. Joan Dafoe. He attended Oregon State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics. Dan loved to travel and learn about other countries' traditions, customs and languages. He spent many months bicycling through Europe before moving to Los Mochis, Mexico, where he met his wife Lorena. Dan spent several years living in Mexico, teaching English and enjoying the Mexican culture. Dan and Lorena's daughter, Sarah, was born in Los Mochis, where they lived for some time before relocating to Fort Collins in the United States. Dan had many interests, including biking, hiking, kayaking, snow skiing and swimming. He was fascinated by family history and worked extensively to record information about his ancestors on Ancestry. Dan is survived by his wife, Lorena Dafoe; daughter, Sarah Dafoe; mother, Joan Dafoe; brother, John Dafoe; sisters and brothers in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Dan will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. A memorial service to be held for Dan this summer will be announced at a later date.
