Funeral Services for Daniel “Dan” R. Johnson, 76, of Bossier City, will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home 2201 Airline Drive Bossier City, Louisiana at 2:00 p.m. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Brother Miles Holladay.
Daniel “Dan” Johnson was born on August 25, 1947, to Earnest Starks Johnson and Katherine Miles Johnson Givens in Alexandria, Louisiana, and passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023.
Dan graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1965. He turned down a baseball scholarship and joined the United States Army in 1965. He served in the Vietnam War and fulfilled his contract in 1968. He married his one true love Sue on April 12, 1974. They had two daughters he loved and doted on. He was a service manager, mentor, trainer, and air tool mechanic for 25 years at Air Power Tool and Hoist. He was a very likable and approachable man. He was very caring and eager to help others. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. He had many hobbies such as hunting, fishing, bowling, playing slots, throwing darts, playing pool, music, and dancing. He was a hard worker and he loved to tinker around with things. His family was always his priority and his pride and joy. He loved spending time with them. He was loved immensely and will be missed dearly.
Daniel R. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Mel, Walter, and Donald Johnson. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Sue Johnson; daughters, Ginger Robinson and husband, Jason, Daphne Jones and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Justin, Michael, Shay, Colton, Haleigh, Emily, Jonathan, and Jacey; great-grandchildren, Lilyann, Jaxon, Wyatt, Veraleigh; sisters, Nancy Perkins and husband, Wade, Shirley Burchett and husband, Tommy; brother, Ronald Johnson and wife, Juana; aunt, Marilyn Bartel, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Honoring Dan as honorary pallbearers will be Jason Robinson, Jeff Jones, Justin Weatherly, Michael Weatherly, Jonathan Jones, Rodney Weatherly, Colton Robinson, David Slocum, and John Wright.
The family would like to express a special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and staff associated with Willis Knighton Medical Centers for the love and compassion they have shown Dan and his family.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to any charity of your choice.
