Daniel P. DeGaetano, 62, of Candia, passed away suddenly on January 18, 2016 in Venice, FL. He was born in Boston, MA on April 12, 1953, the son of the late Nicholas and Edna (Keller) DeGaetano. He was a graduate of Norwood High School, and received his college degree from Worcester State College. He co-owned and operated Hearthworks Fire Center. He loved playing sports with his family and was also an avid fan, especially of the New England Patriots. He and his wife enjoyed spending time in the winter in Venice, Florida and in York Beach, Maine in the summer. He also loved to snowmobile. Family members include his wife of 29 years, Joyce (Maclean) DeGaetano; three sons, David Metts of TX, Jared DeGaetano and Brad DeGaetano, both of Candia; a brother Raymond DeGaetano of Marlboro, MA; two sisters, Linda Donovan of Framingham, MA, and Lori Blondin of York Beach, ME; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Saturday January 30th from 2 to 4 PM, with a memorial service to follow in the funeral home chapel at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Manchester Boys and Girls Club, 555 Union St., Manchester, NH 03104.
