It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel J. Elwart, who left us on March 23, 2025 at the age of 83. Born on March 5th 1942, in Detroit Michigan. Dan was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many.
He dedicated his life to the U.S Navy following the U.S coast guard. He then worked for Variety Vendors and drove semi's across country for J.B Hunt. He retired in 2006 and enjoyed his hobbies of hunting, and shooting muzzleloaders, bowling with his wife and was a proud member of the F.O.E Eagles 1269. His kindness, strength and wisdom touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
Daniel is survived by his wife Roseanne Elwart, daughter Pamela Dotson, son in-law Kevin, granddaughter Amber and her fiancé David with great grandsons Liam & Dawson, Grandson Jesse, Granddaughter Miranda and her fiancé Drake, and Son in-law Rudolph Tuten. Daniel was proceeded in death by his mother Rita Elwart and daughter Cynthia Tuten and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held at Rudy Funeral Home 25650 Van Dyke in Center Line, on Wednesday, March 26th, from 1pm to 8pm with a 5pm Eagles service and a 6pm Scripture Service and Thursday March 27th from 9:30am to 11:30am where family and friends are invited to celebrate his life and share their cherished memories. Following visitation at 11:30am a procession to Christian Memorial Cemetery in Rochester Hills with military honors will take place there. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the Elwart family. Please visit www.rudyfuneral.com to share a memory or light a candle.
