Daniel Erle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc. - Kingston on Jun. 27, 2025.
Daniel W. Erle of Robin Lane, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the age of 67.
Dan was born on February 23, 1958, in Montour Falls, New York, the beloved son of the late Reed and Jean (Decker) Erle. He was known to all who knew him as a kind, fun-loving man with a generous heart and a humor that could light up any room.
Dan dedicated over 30 years to his work as a Conductor for Amtrak, where he not only built a distinguished career but also forged countless friendships that lasted a lifetime. His colleagues and regulars remember him as dependable, hard-working, and always ready with a joke or a laugh to lift spirits.
An accomplished drummer from a young age, Dan had a lifelong passion for music. In his younger years, he was a proud member of the band Otego Creek. Whether he was behind the drum kit or simply enjoying a song, his love for music was a defining part of who he was.
Dan was the life of the party - always the first to crack a joke or bring a smile to your face with his goofy sense of humor. His infectious laughter and lighthearted spirit made him the person everyone wanted to be around.
Dan believed in the potential of his children with a passion that was undeniable. His face would light up whenever he spoke of them, and he took great pleasure in seeing them grow, learn, and become the people they were meant to be. He didn't just support them; he took every opportunity to tell the world about them.
Dan's presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless unforgettable memories.
He is survived by his dear friends and family who will continue to honor his memory.
Rest in peace, Dan. You were one of a kind, and you will never be forgotten.
Surviving are his wife Annalisa (Beesmer) Erle. Children; Nicole Erle (John Brinkman), Daniel Reed Erle. Caitlin Erle ( Abe Greenberg). Stepchildren; Ashleigh Graham, Heath Shaffer. He was predeceased by a sister Carol Colone.
