Daniel J. Fess

DANIEL J. FESS age 52, beloved husband for 24 years of Jennifer (nee Shaw); loving father of Sam and Olivia; cherished son of David A. Fess (wife Beverly) and the late Cheryl Burich (nee Ebersole) (husband Jim); dearest brother of Robert (wife Brook); dear son-in-law of Sandra and the late James Shaw and brother-in-law and uncle of many.
Daniel was born on April 9, 1971 in Cleveland, grew up in South Euclid and resided in the Stow/Cuyahoga Falls area for 25 years. He graduated from Brush High School in 1989 and attended Bowling Green State University, earning a degree in Environmental Sciences. With his education, he pursued a position with Republic Waste Services as an Environmental Compliance Manager. Throughout his life, Daniel practiced his Catholic faith.
Dan was a devoted husband and father to his children. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and watching his children grow up. Despite his long illness, Dan had a zest for life and made a point to stay in touch with friendships he made along the way, often reaching out to others to share notes of support. Dan is known for his love of Halloween, and for creating haunted houses for the kids in the neighborhood. He also enjoyed discussing the stock market, attending his children's sporting events, and anything to do with Star Wars Dan loved to sail, hike, and to travel – always looking to create memories. His favorite music was 70's and 80's, which he listened to often. Dan's family describe him as kind, generous, an avid debater, a people-person, and having a quirky sense of humor, which was sometimes goofy but always well-meaning. On December 5, 2023, Daniel passed away peacefully surrounded by his family who miss him endlessly. Click here to make contributions in memory of Dan to Loeys-Dietz Foundation. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Celebration of Life Service Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 1 PM at The Mayfield Church, 7747 Mayfield Road, Chesterland. Private burial at Whitehaven Memorial Park.
