Daniel Charles Fulton, 68 of Gulfport passed away at his residence on April 12, 2024. He was born on October 19, 1955 in Washington, DC to the late Henry Luke and Bella Fulton. Dan is preceded in death by his parents and son, Shawn Daniel Fulton.
Dan attended St Philip the Apostle Catholic Grade School, and later successfully graduated from Bishop McNamara High School where he earned a 4 year Varsity Letter for Cross Country and Track. Dan became the Captain of the Team, and Most Valuable Player. That team was inducted into the Bishop McNamara High School Hall of Fame in 2018.
Dan eventually decided to join the United States Air Force and proudly served from 1978 to 1983. Dan was stationed at Travis Air Force Base and then abroad in Puglia, Italy.
To say that Dan was a man of many talents is an understatement. After returning from the Air Force, Dan bought “Fulton Concrete” in Gulfport from his Uncle and ran the company from 1983 until 2010. Dan concurrently worked for the United States Census Bureau as a Field Representative and later as a Supervisor. Additionally, he worked with FEMA as a Disaster Housing Inspector. Dan had held his Real Estate Brokers license since 2006 and invested heavily in the housing industry in Gulfport and surrounding areas.
Dan was a skilled conversationalist and loved to debate on wide ranging subjects from religion to politics. He was the family Genealogist and traced the family lines back many generations. He was an avid collector of the eclectic and also enjoyed traveling to see family and friends. Dan was a one-of-kind individual who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Dan is survived by his siblings, Hank (Judy) Fulton, Leslie Weatherly, Robert Fulton (Kathy), Anita (Michael) Freeman, and Lisa (Rick) Gaylor. Dan also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport with Military Honors (11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport). Graveside Services will be held at a later date at Biloxi National Cemetery.
