Dan was born January 27, 1977 in Ramsey County, Minnesota. Dan grew up in St. Paul and went to Johnson High School. Dan showed love by cooking and baking for others. Some of his signature dishes include lasagna, omelets, chicken and dumplings, and his famous carrot cake. Dan worked for the Roofers local 96.
He is preceded in death by his father, Michael Gear.
Dan is survived by his mother, Linda, nee Holwerda, Gear, sisters Shelly (Scott) Schutts and Dede (Troy) Hegeman, brother Scott Gear and beloved dog, Toby.
A celebration of Life will be held Friday, January 30th, 2026 from 4pm to 6pm at the American Legion Post 577 located at 1129 Arcade St, St. Paul, MN. There will be light refreshments.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
