Daniel "Redd" Girouard age 75 died peacefully while sleeping at his apartment on March 6, 2026, in Saco.

Son of the Late Donald and Gloria (Kilby) Girouard of Lewiston, Dan attended Lewiston schools and at age 15 began taking drumming lessons from his friend Bob Ely. At age 18, Dan was in Boston drumming with Universal Underpass band then called Games. The 60's was an exciting time for Dan, meeting and drumming with famous musicians. Dan was a member of the Maine Blues Society and the Lewiston/Auburn music scene supporting local musical venues far and wide since the 1960's, throughout his life and career.

I would like to personally thank all the people who knew and supported Dan during his life and musical career. Naming one person would not be fair to the rest as there are so many names. He touched a lot of people's lives in many ways. He was a tough act to follow, sometimes imitated but never duplicated. We also want to thank Cote Funeral Home for all their help and attention through this process.

Dan was predeceased by his parents, a special grandmother, Edith MacDonald and her poodle Suzette, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dan will be sadly missed by his brother, Bill, daughter's Bonnie Girouard and Jennifer Mead, grandkids Max and Sarah, former spouse Jeannette Girouard.

A graveside and Celebration of Life will be announced later.
