Born on September 20, 1966, to Daniel Gray Sr. and Patricia Antoine, Daniel was raised with love and strong family values that shaped the man he became. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1984. After high school, Daniel proudly took over the family business, Gray's Construction - a responsibility he never took lightly. He poured his heart into the business, continuing the legacy built by his father. Under his leadership, the business grew - not just in size, but in heart.

Family meant everything to Daniel. He was a devoted husband to Robin Gray for 32 years. More than partners in marriage, they were best friends who loved building a life together - especially hosting family gatherings such as Jazz Fest, Good Friday, and New Year's were some of his favorite occasions, always celebrated with laughter, good food, and his signature toast to "SUCCESS."

Daniel was especially known for his lifelong fascination with cars. Whether it was restoring classics, taking Sunday drives, or sharing stories about the latest models, his enthusiasm was contagious. He believed cars weren't just machines - they were a way to connect with people.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Gray Sr.; his paternal

grandparents, Lilian and John Gray; his maternal grandparents,

Beatrice and Anthony Sorina; and his fur baby Hannah Gray.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Robin Gray;

his mother and stepfather, Patricia and Fred Antoine; his sisters,

Rhonda Fultz and Cindy Cyprian (Earvin Cyprian Jr.);

and his brother, Edwin "Bay Bay" Gray. Although Daniel had no

children of his own, he had many beloved fur babies, Stella Rose

and Whisky, and was a father figure to his nieces and nephews:

Lacy Gray, Anthony Williams, Kalen Gray, Ariane Williams, and

Matthew Gray, as well as to his great-nieces and great-nephews.

He also leaves behind countless cousins and an abundance of

friends who became like family over the years.

His warmth, humor, and unmistakable laugh will be dearly missed,

but his spirit lives on - in every shared story, every revved

engine, and every celebration in his honor. Those who knew

Daniel are invited to carry on his tradition of love, laughter, and

togetherness. In his honor, raise a glass, light a cigar, share a story,

or take a drive down your favorite road - just as

Daniel "Big Poppa" Gray Jr. would have wanted.

To Robin and the entire Gray family, Big Pops All Day, will forever be in my heart. When I look around my home and all of the fantastic work he did in making my house a home, there is a smile and laughter in every room that will keep him close to me, not just as a Contractor, but a friend for his work will always be a labor of Love. Robin and family, I pray God's strength will cover you in such a time as this.
