Daniel S. Greeke

Daniel S. Greeke, 62, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on September 23,2024, in his sleep at home after a happy day with his family. Dan was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, Father and Grandfather.
He graduated from Gloucester High School in 1980 where he played football. He received his bachelor's degree in science from Springfield College in 1985, where he continued playing football. There he met his future wife, Joan. He most recently was employed as a supervisor at the MBTA. When Dan wasn't working, he was home spending time with his dogs, watching his children excel in sport, and spending time with his family on their boat. He had a special bond with his dogs Duke and Bear where he loved to take them out on their mudflats for swims. If you knew Danny, you knew he had a big heart and loved fiercely. He was a man of smart witty remarks and funny dad jokes, and he made sure he always got a laugh out of you. He was a proud grandpa and was looking forward to meeting his newest granddaughter who is expected to arrive soon.
He is survived by his loving Wife Joan (Walker) Greeke, his Son Jacob Scott (Kaylie Hayes), his Daughter Caroline E Greeke (James Pallazola), granddaughter Madelyn Mae Greeke, siblings Peter Greeke (BillieAnn), Paul Greeke (Kathy), Sheila Greeke Danjou (Bo). Sister-in-law Carol Walker Acquaviva, Ann (Ward) Greeke, and many special nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Martha (Koski) and Dell Greeke. Siblings Sandra (Greeke) & Joseph Guelpa, Donald Greeke, Linda (Baptiste) Greeke. A special nephew William D Greeke.
Visiting hours will be held in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, on Friday, September 27, from 4-7P.M. Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church 142 Prospect Street, Gloucester. on Saturday, at 10A.M. Burial will be private.
