Daniel Henry

Daniel Henry, age 64, entered eternal rest on January 23, 2026, at home surrounded by family. He was born on March 17, 1961, in Perth Amboy, NJ, to the late John C. and Margaret Henry (Costello). A lifelong resident of Fords, Daniel had many jobs including working at Bellcore, Beth Israel and Cloverleaf cemeteries, taxi driver and roofer. He enjoyed hosting many picnics and parties at his house where horseshoes were played into the night, fishing, hunting and hanging out with friends at his trailer in Bear Creek Campground and playing both shortstop and 3rd base for the Maddogs softball team, where he was known for his wicked arm. He was proud of his Irish Heritage so being born on St. Patrick's Day was very special to him. His greatest joy was being a dad and grandpa. He was a die hard Yankees and Giants Fan. His laughter was infectious.

Daniel is predeceased by his parents, John C. and Margaret Henry; and his 3 sisters, his twin Doreen Henry, Maureen Sorenson, and Kathy Hugelmeyer.

Surviving Daniel is his beloved wife, Patricia Henry (Dillon); his children, Danny Henry and Maggie Henry along with his son-in-law Gerard Bullock; his grandson, Zayden; his brothers John Henry and wife Joyce, Dennis Henry and wife Andrea, Brian Henry and wife Diane, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

Cremation will be private. A Memorial Service for Daniel will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, between the hours of 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Flynn and Son / Mitruska Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Daniel's memory may be made out to the American Cancer Society.
