Daniel R. Hewitson, 83, of Burlington, died Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at his home in Burlington with his wife and daughter by his side.
Born April 16, 1940, in Strathroy, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of George and Marion Olive Roberts Hewitson. On August 30, 1987, he married Connee Parsons in Aurora IL.
He worked in the restaurant management industry his whole career.
He attended Wings of Praise Church in West Burlington. Daniel will be remembered as a prankster and was a very hard worker who always provided for his family. He enjoyed listening to music, watching classic television shows, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Connee Hewitson; daughter, Amy Lynn (Ted) of West Frankfort, IL; five grandchildren, Dylan (Erin), Amanda (Andrew), Tabitha, Hannah, and Alena Mae; sister, RoseAnne (Rick) Albright of Aurora, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Edward Hewitson, sister-in-law, Muriel Hewitson, two sisters, Vera Hewitson, Mary Thiel, brother-in-law, Jim Thiel, granddaughter-in-heart, Jaelyn, and a niece, Helen Kluiber.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
Family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Monday, February 19, 2024, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.
The memorial service for Mr. Hewitson will be 2:00 PM Monday, February 19, 2024, at Prugh Funeral Service, with Pastor Brenda Distelhorst officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice.
