Daniel Xavier Hietpas

Daniel Xavier Hietpas, age 66, of Pine River, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at home in the Township of Leon.

He was born April 26, 1959, in Appleton, WI, the son of Giles and Anne Islinger Hietpas. Daniel was a 1977 graduate of Kimberly High School. On September 22, 2003, he was united in marriage to Donna Kennedy in Portland, Maine.

Dan worked for Appleton Papers as a laborer, retiring in 2021. He enjoyed doing many projects in and around his and Donna's homestead. Dan liked to putter about, beekeeping, wine, bread and making sauerkraut. He also recently got his own sawmill operation. Dan had been a fisherman, hunter and trapper.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Nickol (John) Burmeister, Amy (Kim) Arndt, Lindsay Frasier, Max (Simone) Hietpas and Ross (Ashley) Hietpas; eight grandchildren, Brooke, Emily, Brian, Austin, Sofia, Brielle, Noah and Opal; four great-grandchildren, Huntleigh, Beckam, Bowen and Teagen; three sisters, Pam, Gwen and Becky; two brothers, Steve and Lee; one sister-in-law, Sue; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Tom and Giles.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Barbola-Hempel Funeral Chapel in Poy Sippi. A memorial has been established.
