Leanette Holzschuh Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'Connell Funeral Home - Little Chute on Jan. 5, 2026.
Leanette Holzschuh (Ratzman), 57, passed away on January 03, 2025, after a sudden heart attack. Leanette was born on March 2, 1968, to Patricia and Richard Ratzman in Appleton, Wisconsin. After graduating from Kimberly High School, she married her high school sweetheart Joel on October 30, 1993. In 1996 they had Hannah Rae and in 2000 they had Julia Louise. Leanette loved her family more than anything. She is survived by her husband, Joel; daughters, Hannah (Andrew) and Julia; parents, Patricia and Richard; and sister Sheila (Toby). Leanette also leaves behind a brokenhearted, shocked, and supportive group of countless friends and family.

Leanette was a big personality in a small package. She had an impact on every person she interacted with. She was beautiful, courageous, inspirational, kind, loving, funny, full of joy, and a ball of fire that showed us what can be accomplished with determination and persistence. She lived her life to the fullest - always - and touched every person she interacted with. She loved to host and entertain and could always light up a room. Her greatest joys and accomplishments were the love of her husband, the gift of being a Mom and her beautiful home and gardens.

A celebration of life will be held on August 22nd to honor Leanette's memory. We will be having a bonfire and live music to celebrate how Leanette would have wanted. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.

My deepest sympathies go out to Leanette´s husband, children, and the entire family. I was stunned to hear of her passing.

While many years have passed, I hold such fond, indelible memories of the time Leanette and I spent together as kids. We were inseparable back then, and I can still picture those afternoons at her parents' home with the sheepdogs in what felt like an endless yard. I´m certain those were the formative years where she discovered her love for gardening from her mom. I also vividly remember the times we spent at her grandparents', 'helping' tend the locks in the way only two kids can.

Leanette truly touched my soul during those years. I hope her family finds comfort in knowing that the bond we shared as children left a lasting mark on my life. Wishing you all peace and strength.

I am so shocked and sorry to hear of Leanette´s passing. Joel and Laenette were my customers at Countryside Golf Course for many years years. We became very good friends over the years and Leanette was one of the sweetest and most beautiful ladies I have ever met. Such a kind soul RIP Leanette, sorry to see you leave us at such a young age. He must have needed an angel in heaven
