Daniel Goodman Higger (Bookie), age 90, passed away in Boynton Beach, FL on July 14, 2023. He was born in Norfolk, VA on January 4, 1933 to Julius and Rachel Higger.
Bookie was always a hardworking go-getter, leaving high school to join the United States Air Force, later obtaining his GED and graduating from William & Mary with a bachelor's degree. After his discharge from the Air Force, he worked as a civilian for the United States Navy. He retired as an Admiral's Advisor in 1988. He continued to also be a managing partner in Sunnyside Associates until 2019 when he sold the properties and fully retired. However, his biggest achievement was his 67 year marriage to the love of his life, Frances. He will be greatly missed, and remembered for his quick-witted and audacious sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Frances, children Sharon Rothenberg, Amy Dagen, and Julius Higger, his 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Gilbert Higger, his step mother Pearl Higger, his father Julius Higger, and his mother Rachel Higger.
Shiva will be held Sun-Tues from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at their residence.
