Daniel Ray "Danny" Hodges, age 67, passed away on September 8, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on July 1, 1958, in Dillon, South Carolina, Danny had been living in Jacksonville Florida. He lived a life marked by dedication, humor, a competitive spirit, and a deep love for his family. He was known for his long-standing and faithful employment in the insurance industry, earning numerous top performer recognition awards throughout his career-a testament to his work ethic and commitment. Danny had a remarkable ability to light up any room he entered. Whether he was known as "Pa", or affectionately called "Uncle Taco," he brought joy and laughter wherever he went. His presence was magnetic-he could captivate those around him with ease and always left people smiling. He found joy in simple pleasures and pastimes. Danny loved playing horseshoes, cards, and billiards-activities that often brought together friends and family for moments of fun and connection, as well as an opportunity for Danny to show off his skills and do what he did best: a little talking! An avid baseball fan, Danny's recent favorite pastime was attending baseball games to watch Branton and Kolton play, as well as spending time with Ryder. Danny is survived by his loving mother Nancy Hodges; his brothers Dennis Hodges (Kimberly) and Ricky Hodges; his sister Theresea Norton (Bill); his devoted wife Donna Hodges; his children Misty Turbeville (Mark) and Casey Hodges; his stepsons Brett Pickett (Whitney ) and Brad Pickett (Nina) and his cherished grandchildren Haley Hufham (Grant), Branton, Kolton, and Ryder Pickett as well as many of his nieces and nephews. Each of them carries forward memories of his warmth, humor, and unwavering spirit. He is preceded in death by his father Earl Hodges and sister Marie Carter. A Celebration of Life will be held in Dillon, South Carolina to honor Danny's life on October 11, 2025, at 02:00 PM at East Dillon Baptist Church 702 S 16th Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Hodges Family at 2425 Parental Home Rd. Jacksonville FL 32216. May the memory of Daniel Ray "Danny" Hodges bring comfort to all who knew him.
